Last month, workshops were held for teachers whose choirs are taking part in next year's Grand Choral Festival Concert in the National Creative Arts Youth Festival which will be held on May 24, 1997, in the Old Mutual Sports Hall, Francois Road.

teachers came from Umhlali, Estcourt, Nottingham Road, Hillcrest, Mount Edgecombe, Empangeni, Dannhauser, Kloof, Howick and Port Shepstone represeting approximately 700 children. This shows the far-reaching support and interest in the Festival.

UNITE

"This National Creative Arts Festival is designed for young people to unite in singing for enjoyment and to experience unity with all the peoples and rich cultures of our country," explains Festival Director Professor Elizabeth Sneddon.

It is also an opportunity for choir leaders to share their knowledge and expertise to enrich young people who will also experience the unique opportunity of singing in a massed choir.
