STAYING ALIVE

A new supper theatre venue opens at 214 St Thomas Road on November 5 just in time for the festive season, with a vibrant new show, Staying Alive written and directed by Themi Venturas.

The venue at 214 St Thomas Road com-bines the theatrical talents of Themi and Gary McKenzie with the culinary skills of Blue Strawberry.

There will be equal focus on the meal and on the show with Jenni Jackson and her Blue Strawberry team concentrating only on serving high quality gourmet meals with Themi's team concentrating on the production.

Staying Alive

features Darryl Evan Fuchs, Clinton Philander, Tim Wells, David Manqele and Janene van Pletsen as the diary-writing Suzy Johnson.

Picking up where the smash-hit, long-running Good Vibrations left off, Staying Alive looks at some of the issues perti-nent to the turbulent 70's.

Jane Sanders is the choreographer and Dawn Thompson as music director.

There is free and secure parking adjacent to the hall. To book phone 579-1463.

SPIRIT OF OUR STORIES

Africa is rich in stories. Some are traditional and relate origins, others are contemporary and speak of the modern world. Many instruct their audience and convey morals through using interesting events and characters providing wonder-ful sources for visual interpretation.

The Caversham Press and the Caversham Press Educational Trust have produced an exhibition of original prints to celebrate African stories and legends titled The Spirit of our Stories. It runs at the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritz-burg from November 23 to January 12.
