DRAMA

AM-DRAM WINNERS

Winners at the recent Catholic Players Guild Am-Dram Festival were: best play - Anne Petersen for her production of One Season's King; best comedy - Joan Holmes-Newsome for Visitors from London; best actor - Jerry Richardson in Visitors from London, and best supporting actor and actress - Anita Coolbear and Derek Griffin, both in Visitors from London.

Adjudicator Profesor Dennis Schauffer said that the plays performed at the festival had been varied and mainly of a high standard. He was pleased to see that theatre was alive and well and not confined to the centre of Durban.

The Pinetown Repertory Players trophy for the best character actor or actress was won by Ruth Jacobson of the St James Players for her cameo role in The Deep Blue Sea. The trophy honours the memory of Joan Farbus.
