PROMS NIGHT

Last Night of the Proms

is one of the most popular events on the music scene.

For the past six years, the annual Last Night of the Nedbank Proms concert organised by the 1820 Settlers Associa-tion has perfomed to full houses in the Durban City Hall and this year's concert on October 5 is sure to be no exception.

For the first time this year, there will also be a Last Night of the Nedbank Proms concert in the Pietermaritzburg City Hall on October 12.

Taking part in both concerts will be the full Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Durban Symphonic Choir and the Cale-donian Pipe Band under the baton of Richard Cock.

In Durban only there will also be a spectacular fireworks display after the show accompanied by the Durban Youth Wind Band.

The 1820 Settlers Association, founded in 1920, will donate part of the proceeds of the evening to their bursary fund.

TEAM-UP

Finding oneself unexpectedly face to face with financial responsibility can be scary, forcing one to rely blindly on others or to struggle endlessly through a maze of financial jargon.

Team Up is a unique new system of financial training allowing individuals to use their own resources and experience to develop understanding through games, stories, role plays, and group discussions which create a varied and enjoyable learning process. Each participant is also provided with an easy reference manual.

After operating successfully in the Gauteng area, Team-Up will present workshops in KZN for the first time and these will be held at the Glenmore Pastoral Centre. The two five day workshops each cost R1 000 pp:

Oct 14-18: The First Step. Good Infor-mation - understanding is empowerment.
