YOUNG SCULPTORS
Three sculptors have been busy carving felled trees in Bulwer Park. They are students attending the NSA's Saturday
morning classes funded by SIDA funding agency.
The sculptors are Lindelani Ndinisa, Bongani Ngubeni and Jabulani Mkhize who are being given an opportunity to
work on a large scale hitherto denied them. It was their idea and initiative and permission was requested from the Durban Parks
Department for them to carry out their project.
Lindelani Ndinisa and Bongani Ngubeni have created an impressive work in jaca-randa wood which they titled
Our Dream. Following the natural contours of the branch, Our Dream has a strong African
ancestral spirit influence.
The sculptures appeared on the 91 Years NSA Gallery Gala Exhibition held at the NSA last month.
