ARTS FOR LIFESKILLS

In July the Visual Voice Film Museum Project will hold an exhibition covering the history of film and video over the past 101 years. The exhibition will include a mini-film festival and work-shops for aspirant filmmakers.

The event will launch a fund-raising drive for money to acquire a building to house the museum of "moving images" which will include an educational facility linking film production to "entertainment with a purpose". Also proposed is a community computer centre with Inter-net facilities allowing members to access international data banks for information.

The project aims to encourage the making of meaningful feature films in KZN and to develop lifeskills through the film-making process.

Anyone interested in attending the workshops or donating equipment to the museum can contact: Cinematic City, BAT Resource Centre, 45 Maritime Place, Small Craft Harbour or Tel/fax: 368-5603, E-mail: Bat@Lia.Co.Za
