Organised by the Tatham Art Gallery, the retrospective exhibition of important KZN artist Gerard Bhengu is at the Durban Art Gallery until February 25.
The artist's talent was discovered in the 1920's by Dr M J Kohler from Centocow in the Creighton area, where the artist lived. He later illustrated Kohler's ethnographic and medical publications.
The exhibition shows landscapes, genre paintings, portraits and book illustra- tions. It is a very large exhibition with a wide variety of work. A comprehensive catalogue is also available.
