A newsy letter was received over Christmas from husband-and-wife team Jill Fenson and John Moss, ex Durban theatre personalities, now living in England. Jill was well-known as an ac- tress/writer and John headed the drama department of the then Napac.
Through the offices of his daughter, Miranda (now a theatrical agent), John was contracted to direct Cinderella (not his own version, though) in Dubai at the New World Trade Centre. He started rehearsals in London on December 4, meeting the company for the first time, flew out seven days later to Dubai and the show opened on December 21. That's movin' it some!
NEWSPAPERS
Before Christmas, Jill began scripting for Talking Newspapers and was thrown in the deep end with the whole Marks and Spencers Christmas catalogue adapted for audio cassette. "Now, I'm faced with the possibility of putting the Times Newspaper for the whole of 1946 into a 90-minute digest for audio- presentation," she adds. "The work will be split with another writer but it's still 130 issues each to be adapted."
Good to hear they're keeping busy. Anyone wanting their address should contact D'ARTS office.
