Patric Chambers, chairman of the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens Foun- dation and accredited horticulturist and lecturer, will lead a tour of English gardens in May. This will take in the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show as well as private visits with special guides of the gardens of the British National Trust. Also featured will be Beth Chatto's beautiful garden in Lavenham; the Chelsea Physic Garden in London; the Royal Gardens at Kew; Hampton Court; Hatfield House; Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon (with the option of seeing a play).

The tour, which will be guided by leading British garden guide Evelyn Mercer, continues into Wales then back to Oxford and Stourhead, the famous garden laid-out in the 18th century.
The cost of the tour is R13 350 pp including economy class airfare on SAA, accommodation and a ticket to the Chelsea Flower Show.
