SINGERS' STUDIO

A new opera company, The Singers' Studio, was recently formed in Durban.

"The aim of the company is to give local singers the opportunity to use their talents in opera and musical produc- tions," says founder/director Stacey Almond.

The company's first production will be Purcell's Dido and Anëas at the Play- house in June, hopefully followed later in the year with Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance.

Promising singers will be given the opportunity to take part in recitals and future productions.
