Short story writers are invited to enter the 1996 Sanlam Literary Award, a project administered by the Grahams- town Foundation. Only original works, in English and written by South African citizens, will be considered in two categories, published and unpublished.
In the first, R4 000 goes to the best original short story published in book form since the beginning of 1994. The author of the best unpublished short story wins R3 000 in the second section.
The presentation will be made during the 1996 Grahamstown Standard Bank National Arts Festival from July 4 to 14.
A free trip to Grahamstown and one night's accommodation form part of each winner's prize. Entries must reach the organisers before March 31.
