THE GLASS MENAGERIERunning at the Kwasuka Theatre until September 13, is The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams directed by Pieter Scholtz and designed by Peter Court."Because of its considerably delicate or tenuous material, atmospheric touches and subtleties of direction play a particularly important part," said Tennessee Williams in his production notes to the play. "Expressionism and all other unconven-tional techniques in drama have only one valid aim, and that is a closer approach to truth." DIRECTED Pieter Scholtz has directed his cast well in this play which deals with lost hopes and aspirations. The young crippled daughter, Lara, is played by Susan Monteregge with Jacqui Logie as the mother, Peter Court as her son and Tim Wells as the gentleman caller. For those who like good theatre, don't miss this one! Book at Computicket or at Kwasuka on 309-2236. |
