Durban Art Gallery Activities

Guided Tours
The Gallery has a team of volunteer guides who are able to give talks and walkabouts on required topics, in English, Afrikaans or Zulu. Students, scholars, clubs, groups and members of the public are invited to contact us to arrange a suitable time. We require at least a week's notice to arrange a tour.

Events:
Films, lectures, guided tours etc. are given in the Gallery or in the Lecture Theatre on the First Floor (entrance through the Natural Science Museum).

The Young:
Special activities are organised for children and young people, particularly during school holidays. Schools are encouraged to arrange group visits to the Gallery for schoolchildren. Regular craft workshops are held in the Educentre, situated on the 5th floor of Colonial Tower in West Street (entrance near Mark Lane). Activities include traditional beadwork, basket weaving and straw hat making. Details can be found in the Gallery's Quarterly Calendar.
